Everything you need to get started with Aphora
Getting Started
Aphora makes it easy to display your favorite photos on your Roku TV as a screensaver. Follow this guide to get up and running in minutes.
1. Creating Your Account
- Visit aphora.tv/signup
- Enter your email address and create a password
- Verify your email address by clicking the link sent to your inbox
- Start your 14-day free trial with full Premium access
2. Installing the Roku Screensaver
- On your Roku device, go to Streaming Channels
- Search for "Aphora"
- Select Add Channel to install
- Once installed, go to Settings → Theme → Screensavers
- Select Aphora Screensaver and choose Set as Screensaver
3. Pairing Your Roku Device
- Open the Aphora screensaver on your Roku
- A pairing code will be displayed on your TV (e.g., ABCD-1234)
- On your computer or phone, visit aphora.tv/devices/pair
- Enter the pairing code shown on your TV
- Give your device a name (e.g., "Living Room TV")
- Click Pair Device
Your Roku is now connected to your Aphora account!
4. Uploading Photos
- Log in to your Aphora account
- Click Library in the navigation
- Click Upload Photos
- Drag and drop photos or click to browse
- Select up to 10 photos at once (max 15MB each)
- Supported formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP
- Click Upload All

5. Assigning Photos to Devices
- Go to the Library page
- Select photos by clicking the checkbox on each photo
- Click Add to Device
- Choose which device(s) to display these photos on
- Photos will appear on your Roku screensaver

6. Sharing with Family
- Go to Shared Links in the navigation
- Click Create Share Link
- Give the link a name (e.g., "Grandparents Upload Link")
- Optionally set a contributor name
- Choose which devices should auto-receive uploaded photos
- Share the link with family members
- They can upload photos directly without needing an account
Managing Your Devices
To manage your paired Roku devices:
- Go to Devices in the navigation
- View all connected devices
- Rename devices
- See which photos are assigned to each device
- Unpair devices you no longer use
Troubleshooting
Pairing Code Not Working
- Pairing codes expire after 10 minutes. Generate a new code on your Roku
- Make sure you're entering the code exactly as shown (including the dash)
- Codes are case-sensitive
Photos Not Showing on Roku
- Make sure photos are assigned to your device
- Wait a few minutes for changes to sync
- Restart the Aphora screensaver on your Roku
- Check that photos uploaded successfully (green checkmark)
Upload Failing
- Check file size is under 15MB
- Verify file format is JPEG, PNG, or WebP
- Expired trial users: Subscribe to continue uploading
- Try uploading one photo at a time
- Check your internet connection
Screensaver Not Activating
- Go to Settings → Theme → Screensavers
- Make sure Aphora Screensaver is selected
- Check screensaver delay time (Settings → Screensaver → Wait Time)
- Ensure your Roku is connected to the internet
